Christie Howieson is a self-taught baker and cake designer who found her passion for baking in early 2013. She started humbly and 'by accident' during her Graphic Design degree at the Glasgow School of Art when she was asked to make a last minute birthday cake for a friend. It was her first experience with fondant icing and from there her interest blossomed.

During her degree Christie baked at weekends, honing her craft and never saying 'no' to a commission. When she graduated she entered into the Graphic Design world, taking up a job as a designer within a small drinks creative agency in Glasgow. Working part time her cakes gained her massive social media success, raking up over 2 million online views which led her to December 2017 when she had to make the decision of going full time.

With support from her family and friends, Cake Days a Week began fully in January 2018. She gained premises in the East End of Glasgow where two very generous friends took a chance on her. Christie isn't scared of hard work and this venture is truly setting the course for a cake-filled future.
